It was an FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool (team I support) and Manchester City at the Wembley Stadium, London.
One of the biggest matches of the season, it was a must watch fixture.
When I checked the timings of the contest, I was set aback, a little. It was scheduled on a Saturday, at 8 PM, so it would end by 10 PM (minimum). My dialysis starts any time after 9:15 PM on that particular day. There was a certainty I would miss some part of the action.
I was in for a surprise.
The mighty reds went full throttle and played their (or any other team’s) best half of the whole season. They went 4-0 at half-time, i.e. by 9 PM. There was almost no chance for Liverpool to lose the tie from here on (and they didn’t). All my fears of missing an important part of the duel were gone.
I felt blessed.
The football gods were working hard to make up for the other limitations in my life.
